Launching Nexus Africa

On the evening of June 6th at a gala event, Ubuntu Institute in partnership with the African Presidential Centre, will launch Nexus Africa, a network of young philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and influencers who work to increase and improve philanthropy and social impact investing. The conversation will continue on June 8 at an intergenerational dialogue breakfast that will take place at the Palazzo Hotel, Montecasino in Johannesburg.

Theme: Growing next generation philanthropy in Africa

African philanthropy is one of the ways that has been identified to drive development on the continent. Nexus Africa aims to bridge communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship for dialogue, education and collaborative problem-solving as well as to inspire young African philanthropy, social investment, and the potential of next generation leadership across nations and sectors. In promoting the concept of philanthropy on the continent, Nexus Africa aims to create sustainable development programs that minimize negative impact in light of declining global resources.

African Presidential Roundtable

The launch will form part of the African Presidential Roundtable, an annual summit held with former African heads of state, international dignitaries and other industry leaders. The summit will take place from June 5 – 8 2013.

For international guests our agenda calls for arrival in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 5, 2013 and departure on June 9, 2013. To confirm your attendance in Johannesburg the principal staff person will be Fikile Nkambule available on +27 11 566 6813 or email fikilen@nexusyouthsummit.org

We hope you can join us as generations work together to find ways to create a socially developed and economically stable continent, encouraging Africans to support the development of their fellow Africans as well as to be the change they want to see.
